1½cupflourspooned and leveled
½tspbaking powder
¼tspbaking soda
½tspsalt
1stickbuttersoftened
¾cupgranulated sugar
2tspvanilla extract
2large eggsroom temp
⅓cupsour creamroom temp
4 oz applesauce
For the apples
2cupschopped applesgala, granny smith, honeycrisp, etc.
¼cupbrown sugar
1tbspcinnamon

1cuppowdered sugar
2tbspmilk
¼tspvanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°
In a large bowl, add the chopped apples along with the brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix well and let it sit for 15 minutes.
In another bowl add the softened butter, sugar and vanilla extract. whisk until well combined. Add in the eggs and incorporate one at a time. Next add in the apple sauce and sour cream. Mix well. Stir in the dry ingredients. Don't over mix.
Add half the batter to a prepared loaf pan. Spoon over the marinated apples along with some of the liquid. Top with the remaining batter and more apples. Finish with coarse sugar (optional) and bake for 50-60 minutes. Just until the center is set. Let it cool for 15-20 minutes before glazing. Slice and enjoy with your favorite cup of coffee.
Glaze
Add the powdered sugar to a bowl, along with the vanilla extract & milk. Whisk together until there are no lumps. Set aside until ready to use.
